Appreciation: It Can Transform Our Life
Why is appreciation so powerful? Appreciating what we have, where we are, and who we are essential to help us move forward and reach our heart’s desire. Without appreciation, we are limiting ourselves. It is like being stuck where we are in the sense that we might not be content or satisfied. Even if we are totally satisfied with our present situation, we need to express our appreciation to set the process of gaining momentum for moving ahead in motion. Therefore, it is tremendously important to recognize life’s blessings and to communicate our appreciation in the interest of creating more blessings and for the purpose of advancing confidently to new heights.
How does appreciation move us to the next level? When we appreciate, we make a statement that we recognize and praise the universe for our good favor. When we appreciate, we are telling ourselves and life itself what is important to us and what makes us feel good. Appreciation is like having a spiritual communication where we express gratitude for the positive things in our life. Having this conversation raises our energy to a new level. It puts us in a pleasant place which in itself is positive. In other words, when we acknowledge the value of the things and the people that surround us or the experiences in our lives, we position ourselves to receive more of the good things of life. In itself, that is an excellent reason to become more appreciative.
To be effective, we have to establish a plan to form a habit of appreciating every day. The easiest way to begin our recognition habit is to start with the things and the people surrounding us, with what we have and our successes. Once we have mastered this area, we can move on to self-appreciation and self-worth and finally move on to acts of kindness and treasuring other people.
Being appreciative does not mean that we remain in a state of contentment. People might think that because we recognize the good things in life we need to be content and remain forever where we are. On the contrary, we are showing the world that where we are and what we have is great and that we are open to receiving greater blessings, and then the Universe will take care of sending us what we desire. When we are appreciating, we are in a state of happiness crucial to our never-ending development. Since we continue to develop for the rest of our lives, it is imperative to follow that course of action: appreciate, receive, and give to others while remaining in harmony with ourselves. Therefore appreciation, happiness, and joy are the driving forces to a fulfilled life.
A Journal of Appreciation
Whether we start each day or end our day by reflecting and making notes of all the good moments or activities that occurred during the day, it is important to acknowledge and grasp these moments, revel, and delight in them. Soon, we develop a profound awareness within us every day that life “is” good. Some days we have to look deeper for a little glimpse of something. Still, in time we will recognize more and more beautiful instances to appreciate by allowing all of our senses to help us. When nothing is apparent, we can focus on the majesty of nature to help us reconnect with beauty and love. There's so much grandeur that surrounds us, particularly in nature. It is simple to do, effective, and doesn’t require any specific skills.
Appreciation is being thankful, and thankfulness makes us feel wonderful. It enhances our well-being. Consequently, the more we appreciate, the more we develop our self-worth and start recognizing our accomplishments and the courage it took to reach the level that we are at. Self-appreciation then leads to appreciating others and performing acts of kindness that can elevate the spirit of others and bring change in them. In other words, our acts of recognition, value and respect for us and others can create positive change and transform the world. The world becomes a better place because appreciation brings more blessings to all.
Appreciation: A Way of Life
Once we are accustomed to being appreciative every day, it becomes a way of living. It becomes part of our habits and lifestyle. It is second nature. When we experience the positive effects and see the impact and the energy that appreciation can create, we can no longer ignore it. We do it like any other daily routine. The benefits are enormous, our environment improves, our spirit is uplifted, we feel empowered, change begins to happen, and our mindset begins to shift. We start seeing everything and everyone in a new light. And that is the reason we adopt a way of life where appreciation is fundamental and so precious. It is like finding a treasure that we share with the whole world. Let us create happiness for ourselves and in the life of people around us.
